How you can help!

If you are wanting to help us in any way possible we have some things that will make a huge impact on this journey we are on!

Pray & Show Support:
No matter what religion you are, or what you believe in, we ask you to all pray for us to find our birth mother, we hope that you will show us support during this time. Since we are new to this, each day is a learning experience for us, each meeting, each phone call, and each sheet of paper we sign, is all a new learning experience. While we are each other's support, we are asking you kindly to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Not only are we going to be bringing home our son or daughter, but we are also bringing home a grandchild, a niece or nephew, a cousin. Everyone that is our family and friends will be welcoming a new addition to the circle. We can't thank you enough for all of your love and support during this time....and it will never be forgotten!

Help Network:
A way of reaching many potential birth mothers who are seeking adoptive parents is to use a mass market approach, such as Facebook, blogs, twitter and other various websites. If you tell 25 people that we are looking to adopt, and they each tell another 25 people, you will have "told" 625 people! This ripple effect does work, networking works with everyday people like your friends and neighbors, as anyone can hear of a friend or neighbor whose daughter has an unplanned pregnancy. Do you know someone who is expecting and considering adoption for their baby? Help us connect by letting them know about us!

Buy a bag of coffee:
We have set up a website that helps families raise money that are seeking adoption to complete their family. For every bag of coffee purchased, we will receive $5.00 to go towards our adoption costs.

Donate:
On our home page we have a "Donate to Delayed Lullaby Link" this is a Paypal tax deductible donation option for anyone who wishes to help with a money donation.

As always any words of encouragement is always accepted! If you would like more information on how you can help us complete our family please email us at delayedlullaby@gmail.com

We can't thank you all enough with your continued love and support. We are so excited to finally have our family complete and be able to share our love and excitement with you all!

Our video to all birth mothers....

I can't think of a better way to describe ourselves, then to listen what our nieces and nephew have to say about us. Letting the camera roll, was fun to hear what they really thought about us, and how excited they all are to bring a "cousin" into the family!

*The little girl singing in the video is Abby she's our 4 year old niece and wanted to make sure that we would include her song of choice that she say she will sing to the baby the first time she gets to hold it* (precious)!

About Doug (by Jennifer)

Doug is the kind of man who anyone can come to for any reason and know they will get the truth, and the utmost respect and attention. Doug is the most loving and caring husband, and best friend in the world.
(Ok, so I am a little bias)

When I first met Doug 15 years ago, I will always remember how admired he was by his little cousins, who I babysat for. They thought the world of their cousin Doug, he would always take time to play with them, and of course joke around with them and his aunt and uncle.

Doug's personality is definitely one for the books, he is someone who will go out of his way to make you smile, and try and remember what you DO have instead of what you DON'T have.
He is someone who once you meet him for the first time, you feel like you have known him your whole life!!

I can't imagine life without Doug by my side, through our entire life fate kept bringing us back together, and we finally knew after years apart that our love for each other would never end. We are each other's greatest support, we are each other's best friend.

Through our struggle of infertility, Doug has shown me just how strong he can be, it has also shown me just how much he wants to start a family and how amazing of a daddy he will be. The patience that Doug has is unbelievable. I am so excited to become parents with Doug and to watch just how wonderful of a daddy he will be!

About Jennifer (by Doug):

When I first met Jennifer I had a different kind of feeling that I've never experienced before, there was something about her that made me feel comfortable, a "at home" kind of feeling whenever she was around.
Jennifer has always had a sense of humor and laugh that makes you just feel "good" whenever she is around you.

Jennifer becomes friends with anyone she meets, she is accepting of everyone and loves meeting new people. She is never afraid of stepping outside her "comfort zone" if it means meeting someone new, helping someone feel like they belong, or just cheering someone up.

The day Jennifer came back in my life after years apart, I knew I couldn't let her go. She was everything I ever wanted and more, she always made me feel that no matter what, everything would be "OK" with her in my life. She is, who I can truly say is my best friend.

Jennifer's strong desire to become a mom, has made me realize just how important being a family really is. She is so compassionate in everything she does, she gives 110% with anything she encounters and most of all, she is so in love with children, it makes me smile and fill my soul with happiness when I see her around children and how natural it is for her to be a mom. You are born to become someone in life, to grow up to be something life, and Jennifer was definitely born and raised to become the best mom there is.

"Born not from our flesh, but born in our hearts....you were longed for and wanted and loved from the start...."

We have been ready for a baby to join our family for quite some time. However, our journey to parenthood hasn't happened as easily or quickly as we had hoped. After our two year journey through infertility, multiple failed IVF treatments, we are very excited to start a 'new' chapter in our lives and grow our family through adoption!!

I can't think of a better way to "broadcast" our journey through adoption, then blogging! Adoption takes time, money and a lot of emotions. There are good days, there are bad days, and then..there are the "waiting" days. The process of adoption requires many steps in other to just be placed on the "waiting" list, we have home studies, fees, and many interviews to complete before we can placed on the list for all the birth mother's to view our profile!

One way that we can be matched with a birth mother is by networking, all it takes is 1 person to know of someone or themselves, that are finding adoption to be the best option for them and their baby, and for us to be matched with them.

Making the decision to place your baby for adoption is one of the most important choices you will make and an incredibly selfless act. A birth mother who decides to place her baby for adoption is not only choosing to give life to her child, but is choosing to give her baby things she may not be able to provide on her own-such as a two-parent family, or financial and emotional security. She may simply feel as though she is not ready for motherhood or in a position to provide a secure home for her baby at the present time.

The best thing about adoption is that everybody "wins". The birth mother can feel at peace with her decision, knowing that her baby is going to grow up loved and well-cared for, while we dream of having a family finally does come true!
